Are you having the following problems?

The haircut session takes longer because hair slips away from the blade while being cut

The dull thinning shear grabs and pulls hair, which causes a split end.

The blades are blunt, and it's causing pain and fatigue around the fingers.

These things occur when the blades of the scissors are dull.

Another company sharpened my scissors, but they don't feel sharp...

Another company sharpened my scissors, but they won't listen to my requests...

I get fired up to help out when I hear such stories.

I want you to experience the cutting edge of the scissors sharpened by a specialist.

To help you give an idea of my work, I made a before and after comparison video of the pair of scissors I worked on.

Beautiful and amazing material used for sharpening: Diamond

To begin with, hairdressing scissors are oftentimes manufactured with tough, high-grade steel. When polishing and adding a delicate cutting edge to these tough steels, diamond is useful because of its hardness.

There are downsides to using diamonds, however. For example, compared to other materials they could cost up to 100 times or more. Furthermore, using tools embedded with diamond, the hardest natural mineral in the world, poses a challenge for a craftsman because the slightest difference in the pressure applied to the blade can save or ruin the edge.

At our store, because we strive for the best sharpening result, we prefer to use sharpening stones embedded with extremely fine diamond powder. In addition, we use plenty of diamond paste for fine polishing and delicate touch-ups of the blade.

Using these fine grit diamond powders, pastes, and sharpening stones allows us to hone the blade to a mirror polish and create a cutting edge that will not damage hair, will not feel "rough" when closing the blades, and will let you experience "cuts-like-butter" sharpness that feels amazing to use.

Testimonials

Thank you for choosing the scissors craftsman, Ota Toshikazu, for your sharpener. It's always a little worrying to try out a new sharpener...What made you choose us?
The website provided many useful pieces of information, such as testimonials and a list of various brands of scissors he worked on.
Please let us know how you feel about our sharpening.
When the scissors come back from another sharpener, it feels like they come back with a dull blade that cuts at 0.7 times its original sharpness.
When the scissors come back from Ota, it feels like they can cut 1.5 times more.
Out of many sharpeners, what made you choose us?
Last time, a different sharpening company worked on my scissors for the same cost as Ota's sharpening, but they came back duller than before. (The thinning shear felt unconfortable just by opening and closing it.) It was so shocking that I wanted my scissors to be resharpened. I saw the testimonials on Ota's sharpening and decided to give it a try.
The difference after sharpening was obvious. The scissors opened and closed so smoothly. Thank you so much! I usually don't leave comments, but I was helped out by everyone's comments, so I decided to leave one too. The scissors will come back really, really sharp!
